MEET the BOARD MEMBERS

Joseph F. Montes, Chair Joseph F. Montes was appointed to the Industrial Development Authority in November of 2007. Commissioner Montes grew up in Whittier, California and served in the United States Air Force for nearly five years. After his military service, Joseph joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1987. For more than 11 years Montes served the LAPD as a patrol officer, training officer, detective trainee and academy instructor. His post-LAPD career led Montes to the banking industry with Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and eventually to Union Bank of California, where he serves as vice president and relationship manager in Beverly Hills. Montes graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s of Public Administration. He also studied Politics and Economics at the London School of Economics.
